2024-2029 STRATEGIC PLAN
Strengthening the support network for survivors through increased visibility, capacity, partnerships, strong governance, solid infrastructure and diversified funding.

Restorations Second Stage Homes is a relatively young not-for-profit and, as with many similar stage organizations, is moving along a trajectory from being a full working Board to one that is focused on strategic governance. As we make this shift that begins with a full strategic plan to focus our efforts to build capacity, our governance structure is also changing. A reimagined governance structure that ensures more rigor will undoubtedly lay the groundwork for successful growth in years to come as we work toward accomplishing our vision.
-
In order to help more, we need more funding; in order to get more funding, we need more capacity. As we move forward, stable and diversified funding is critical to our success. Being more data driven and strategic with our limited resources will focus our efforts in the right areas through systematic and consistent fundraising, grant applications, and corporate partners.

The journey of a survivor involves multiple stops, each supported by various partners. We believe that by fostering a collaborative system geared towards our common goal of uplifting and supporting survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking, we will collectively meet the needs of survivors and our community.
-
At Restorations our mission and vision are crystal clear. As we move forward over the next five years, we will increase our active involvement in the community and build a strong online presence to increase our visibility and reach to help make our vision a reality.

It is said that many hands make light work, and at Restorations we firmly believe this to be true. People, whether they be Board, volunteers, staff or on the ground supporters, will be the linchpin of our success as we grow. We will focus on investing in people — from continuing to ensure that Restorations is a place where employees feel valued and supported in their work to establishing more rigor around volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training and engagement to attract and retain more individuals in support of our cause.
In 2023, Restorations received a generous grant through the Community Services Recovery fund to support our project “Revitalizing Restorations’ governance strength and planning for continued growth.”
This funding from Employment & Social Development Canada allowed us to:
Evaluate and update our current governance policies, and
Develop an organizational strategic plan.
As we celebrated 10 years of supporting survivors of trafficking and exploitation in 2023 and recognized that we had achieved our organization’s initial goal of opening a home for survivors, this funding was instrumental to launch us into our next phase of growth.
As we move forward, our activities will focus on the following strategic goals:
